You may have noticed that this blog doesn’t just highlight dresses, but also backpacks. You may also have noticed that I have not mentioned any backpacks so far. This is mainly because the backpack was more of a symbol when I chose it.
For me, the backpack used to represent a kind of rough and ready, overly casual style that didn’t match the semi-formal clothing choices I generally made. I used to see the backpack as a practical item I would love to be able to carry around easily, out of my way, with all the things I might need while out (ok, fine, all the food I might need), but that would not be dignified for me to use myself. We get some weird ideas sometimes, don’t we? Thank God, I’ve got over that and now have no qualms about leaving the house in a dress and a backpack! The backpack in the name, then, symbolises that practical aspect of clothing that we want to have alongside the elegant dresses and skirts that we choose to wear each day.
So, let’s have a look at some smallish, stylish backpacks that we might use for a day out when we don’t need to carry much but still need a bag. Today I’m going to focus on floral styles, since spring has arrived and there are some pretty designs out there.
Let’s start with this bright white piece, complete with a delicate embroidered pattern.
If you want to go all out with the pinks and flowers (and a bit of shine thrown in), look no further!
I really like this more geometric floral design!
It’s hard to talk about floral backpacks without thinking of Cath Kidston. Although the more well-known designs are small and dense patterns, I far prefer this one!
Finishing off with something completely different: simplicity, of course.
